2019
ET stands for Electric Touring. To differentiate this sedan from its line of sport utility vehicles, NIO set out to create a new platform from the ground up. ET Preview made its debut at the 2019 Shanghai auto show.
During my first year at NIO, I identified mental models and created interaction concepts for a multimodal interface.
The new interaction model and UI were hidden from public view when the Showcar made its debut at the 2020 Shanghai Autoshow.
- Ultimately, the decision was made to carryover and evolve the existing HMI into what became NIO OS 2.0
