The previous flight planning app was suffering from what I would describe as “bolt-on” syndrome. Features had continued to be added with no apparent navigation model or sense of information architecture. We identified key use cases, established a feature hierarchy, and jumped onboard an agile sprint cycle for design and development.
As the UI lead, I defined the navigation, site map, and interaction model. This documentation was used to communicate how redesigned features would look, act, and function. I also created UI components and reference designs for a more extensive style guide.
